We are best known for enhancing the quality of life in under-resourced communities by improving access to nutritious foods, implementing community-supported public green spaces, and fostering economic self-sufficiency through business entrepreneurship.
The Alchemist Kitchen program is a business training course and incubator serving aspiring food entrepreneurs from disadvantaged and under-resourced communities in Sacramento. The Alchemist Kitchen program consists of two phases that build business acumen:
- Alchemist Microenterprise Academy (AMA) is a 12-week business training course that teaches the basics of starting a food business. Topics covered range from financial literacy and legal business structures to recipe development and safe food handling.
- The Alchemist Kitchen Incubator Program (AKIP) is open to select graduates of AMA and provides in-depth assistance customized to specific business needs, including technical assistance, mentorship and low-cost kitchen access.
The Alchemist Kitchen at 882 El Camino is available to participants of the AMA and AKIP programs, as well as the general Sacramento food community.
